Dormont Public Library provides Wi-Fi service to all patrons during computer lab operating hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9 AM to 8:45 PM
  • Friday-Saturday: 9 AM to 4:45 PM

Access to the network is not supported or guaranteed at any other time.

Supported Devices

The Wi-Fi network should be accessible from any computer, smartphone, or tablet with Wi-Fi support and a web browser. Portable gaming devices may not be compatible with the wireless network.

Connecting to the Network

Your computer or device should be set to use the “Dormont Library” wireless network. (Consult your computer or device’s help system if you are unsure.)

There is no password, but you need to enter your first name or initials before your device will be able to access the Internet. The Wi-Fi network should prompt you for this information when you connect to the network or when you attempt to access a web site.

Ask computer lab staff if you need assistance getting your device online.

Network Security

The library’s wireless network is an open, public access network. Patrons should be aware that information sent wirelessly may be intercepted. Avoid entering sensitive information while using the library’s Wi-Fi service, unless the web site you are visiting provides a secure connection. (This is usually indicated by a lock icon displayed in the web browser.)

Acceptable Use Policy

While you are using Dormont Library’s Wi-Fi network, you agree to be bound by our policies for computer use and Internet access. Any violation of this policy may result in the suspension of Wi-Fi privileges. The internet connection will be filtered in compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
