Reference Desk

Dormont Public Library staff can answer general reference questions as a service to the public. Due to staff duties, we regret that we cannot perform extensive or long-term research for patrons.

For liability reasons, library staff cannot answer legal, financial, medical, or other questions of a sensitive nature. Please contact a qualified professional for answers to these questions.

Online References

Thanks to cost-sharing partnerships with Allegheny County libraries and other Pennsylvania libraries, Dormont Public Library is able to provide free access to online reference materials, magazine archives, and more.

Accessing References

The “Find Articles” portal is your guide to online reference materials.

Find Articles

Some online references can be accessed from your PC or mobile device with a valid Allegheny County library card. Click or touch the “Remote Access” link on these references, and you will be prompted to enter your library card number.

POWER Library references are available to all residents of the state of Pennsylvania, while other references may only be available to Allegheny County library card holders. If you are unable to access a resource, please contact us.
