DPL Book Club: The Maltese Falcon
May 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Navigation
May’s selection for the DPL Book Club is The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett.
A treasure worth killing for. Sam Spade, a slightly shopworn private eye with his own solitary code of ethics. A perfumed grafter named Joel Cairo, a fat man named Gutman, and Brigid O’Shaughnessy, a beautiful and treacherous woman whose loyalties shift at the drop of a dime. These are the ingredients of Dashiell Hammett’s iconic, influential, and beloved The Maltese Falcon.
This classic of crime fiction has been filmed several times, with the most famous adaptation being the 1941 version starring Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade.
As of May’s meeting, the book club will now meet at Dormont Public Library, 2950 West Liberty Ave. from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. There is no longer a beverage charge for the meeting. Adults 21 and over are welcome to BYOB.
Registration is requested; to register, please call 412-531-8754 or email dormont@dormontlibrary.org.
