Limited Browsing Begins April 6

Limited browsing will begin on Tuesday, April 6th. Browsing times initially will be Tuesdays from 11:30 – 11:45 and 12:00 – 12:15. We are working hard to ensure everyone’s safety. Only one person will be allowed during each visit and will be open to patrons 16 and over. To schedule your appointment, call us at 412-531-8754. Book Sale: Temporarily Out of Stock

We are temporarily out of items for the book sale and book grab bags. We hope to be able to offer these again soon.

Tax Update

The deadline for filing state, federal, and local income taxes has been extended to May 17, 2021. We will continue providing tax forms and information through that date. We strongly recommend that if you will need documents scanned, copied, or faxed that you contact us at least two business days in advance; with our reduced staff and operating hours we may be unable to accept requests for document services without prior notice. As a reminder, library staff are not able to tell you which forms you need if you do not know the form number. Library staff are also prohibited from filling out forms or logging into websites on your behalf, due to liability issues. If you need tax preparation assistance, please dial 211 to find out about free tax prep services provided by the United Way.

Continuing Precautions

The library building is not open to patrons except during designated browsing by appointment, but staff are available six days a week by telephone or email to answer questions, arrange curbside pickup, or assist with remote document services. Tax Form Availability Notice

IRS tax forms are now available at Dormont Library. The State of Pennsylvania has not provided us with pre-printed tax forms this year, but a limited number of PA-40 and PA-1000 Rent Rebate forms are available. Other state and IRS tax forms can be printed on request; normal printing fees apply.

WQED + Kindness

Dormont Public Library is participating in the WQED + Kindness initiative, encouraging each of us to express kindness to one another. If you’ve done something kind recently and you want to express it, you can add a leaf to our kindness tree by the front door. No act of kindness is too small.
