As in previous years, the PA Department of Revenue is no longer providing free paper forms to libraries. We plan to pre-print a limited number of PA-40 and PA-1000 Rent Rebate forms; library staff can retrieve other forms for you, if you know the form number or schedule that you need.

For the 2019 tax year, the IRS now offers the Form 1040-SR, an optional alternative to filing a full Form 1040 for taxpayers age 65 and over. Read the IRS’s page on the 1040-SR to determine if it’s the right choice for you.

The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania offers free tax preparation assistance by appointment. For more information, visit the Just Harvest program site, or dial 2-1-1 to contact the United Way Resource Navigators service.

Free Filing Online

You can file your taxes electronically with both the IRS and the State of Pennsylvania for free, regardless of your income. Additional free tax prep software may be available to you depending on income guidelines.
