Saturday Storytime: Fish for Jimmy

This week, Amy reads Fish for Jimmy: Inspired by One Family’s Experience in a Japanese American Internment Camp, written and illustrated by Katie Yamasaki, and read with permission of Penguin Books. This is a story about how children cope, or don’t cope, with being made to live in a different place far from home, and how memories of home and strong bonds can help them pull through. Afterwards, Amy demonstrates how to make a toy fishing rod and fish that you can catch with it.
