Free Admission for Museums and Historic Sites

Thanks to our partnership with the Heinz Center Affiliates Program and other Allegheny County libraries, we are offering FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to a number of museums and historical sites around Pittsburgh! Plus, each pass comes with virtual access to educational information, itinerary ideas, and other fun content. 

Our kits this year include: 

  • Duncan & Miller Glass Museum 
  • Heinz History Center (pictured; includes admission to Fort Pitt Museum and Meadowcroft Rockshelter) 
  • Historic Fort Steuben 
  • Merrick Art Gallery*
  • Old Economy Village 
  • Somerset Historical Center
  • West Overton Village Museum & Distillery 

*Pass used in lieu of suggested donation; check with the site about ticketed events. 

At least one member of the family or group borrowing an Experience Kit should have a current Allegheny County library card to participate.

Experience Kit passes are checked out for one week. Kits are available on a first-come first-served basis, or you can make a reservation for the week you would like to borrow the kit. To reserve a week, please call us at 412-531-8754 or email dormont@dormontlibrary.org.
