For teens ages 14-18 who want to make the library a more appealing place for teens and young adults
We’re recruiting teens and young adults ages 14-18 for the Library Teen Council, a new project with the goal of making the library a more appealing space for teens!
During the summer, meetings will be held twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
During the school year, meetings will be on the first and third Saturdays from 11 to noon.
Some ideas for projects the council members are considering include:
- Teen Picks: a book recommendation section where council members can display their favorite books
- A book club
- A movie club
- Projects to redecorate the library
- Cultural events and special events
- Gaming (casual and competitive)
More ideas are always welcome!
This is a great opportunity to show leadership skills and earn community service hours. We want motivated, excited young adults who will come to the meetings full of ideas!
If you are interested in joining the library teen council, please call 412-531-8754, email dormont@dormontlibrary.org, or speak to our director.
