Amy reads Vote For Our Future, by Margaret McNamara, with illustrations by Micah Player, and published by Schwartz & Wade.
Every two years, on the first Tuesday of November, Stanton Elementary School closes for the day, so it can become a polling place. Even though the children at Stanton can’t vote, they get all fired up about the election–after all, kids have to live with adult decisions. What will these future voters do to change their future?
After the story, Amy demonstrates how to make a “Future Voter” ribbon. (You could also make your own “I Voted” ribbon, if you’re old enough to vote.)
