Library patrons with personal computers, smartphones, iPads, or e-readers have access to a variety of downloadable books and audiobooks from ACLA partners.


eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through partnership with OverDrive. Visit the Allegheny County Libraries OverDrive page to browse or search for eBooks and eAudiobooks.The OverDrive Media Console software is required to view or listen to OverDrive content. Most Windows and Mac computers are compatible with the OverDrive Media Console, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.

Users on iOS, Android, and Windows 10 can also use the new Libby app from OverDrive, a friendlier way to check out and read OverDrive books.

OverDrive eBooks are compatible with select models of e-reader devices.


RBDigital Audiobooks

RBDigital logoAdditional audiobooks are available through RBDigital (formerly OneClickDigital) Thousands of titles are available in the RBDigital library, with more added quarterly.

There are no limits on the number of patrons who may have a given item checked out at a time. Patrons may set their own checkout time, from 1 to 21 days, and may renew an RBDigital item up to 3 times.

RBDigital audiobooks are compatible with Macs, PCs, iOS, and Android devices. PC users should download the RBDigital Media Manager from the RBDigital website; Mac, iOS, and Android users can search the App Store for the OneClick apps for their computer or device.

RBDigital Magazines (formerly Zinio) offers full issues of popular magazines that you can read cover-to-cover and keep for as long as you like.
